Meditation Workshops featuring Dr. Maria Fleshood and Ren Fields, Healing Arts & Yoga Center.

Meditation is the practice of going within and practicing quiet concentration on a positive mantra or affirmation, a chakra center within the body or the natural rhythm of one’s breathing. You can meditate while sitting, while lying down or even when walking slowly.

It is a form of mental training that improves concentration and creativity by reducing stress and quieting the mind. It is something many people find difficult to do.
So why meditate? Research has shown that meditation boosts the intensity of relaxing brain alpha waves to a level not even seen during sleep. It slows down aging, lowers blood pressure, heals the heart, accelerates recovery and improves chronic disorders – all by opening up communication between the mind and the body.

Women’s “Mini” Health Retreat

Have you gained weight? Don’t sleep well? Use caffeine, sugar & starches to get you through the day? Do you have irregular or difficult monthly cycles, experience mood swings or food cravings? Do you get more frequent headaches, experience bloating and feel your libido has faded? Did you experience a difficult menopause or feel like you’ve never gotten back to your old self after making the transition?

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, NOW is the time to take TIME OUT and learn how to regain hormonal balance in your life. There IS a connection between the function of your thyroid, adrenal glands and the rest of your endocrine system and how you transition through mid-life. Prolonged emotional stress, chemical stress, a non-nourishing diet and lack of vigorous exercise can all cause and/or contribute to the unpleasant symptoms listed above. Your future mid-life transition and life after menopause depends upon how well you take care of yourself today.

Join other women in a mini retreat designed specifically to help you learn safe, “drug free” ways through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes to restore balance to your life!
